425 Video Biography - The Beginning

425 Video is a husband and wife team of professional wedding videographers, though things didn't start out that way...

April majored in Film & Video Production at the prestigious Brook's Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA. While there she developed the skills needed to become an excellent film maker. She has worked on a number of independent productions with budding artists as well as industry giants. Movies are April's passion and she brings that drive to each and every 425 Video we produce.

Joni graduated from UC Berkeley as an Electrical Engineering and Computer Science major and has spent a number of years working on complex systems with companies ranging from NASA to IGT (slot machine manufacturers). His start in the wedding industry was back in 1992 as a wedding photographer though he made the transition to film and video shortly thereafter. Joni's editing style is that of a storyteller and that shows through in the quality 425 Video delivers.

We were married in May of 2006 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anahiem, California. No, Mickey didn't conduct our ceremony - you'd be surprized how many people ask us that! 425 Video was started while we were still dating. Joni was looking for a creative outlet and April was a starving film student - the two seemed to naturally go hand in hand. We quickly realized that wedding video was still a maturing product in the wedding industry. All too often couples ask "Uncle Bob" to tape their wedding, which is fine for some couples. However more often than not we heard, and saw, couples disappointed by the results. Shakey video, vows that can't be heard because of background noise or wind, and an experience that was generally flat - there was no emotion or storytelling. This didn't make sense to us.

Your wedding is the story of your lives - how you met, fell in love, and got engaged - all ultimately resulting in your wedding day. Why should a wedding video be a simple documentary of the day that sits on the shelf gathering dust? You've invested a lot of time in your wedding, especially when you consider the years you've spent together building a relationship. Those times are some of the most important in your history as a couple - the first time he picked you up for a date, the first time you met her parents, these are things that should not be lost or left out.

By getting to know who you are and what your story is, 425 Video is able to capture the essence of that and show your personalities though an artful combination of images and music. By understanding who you are as individuals as well as who you are as a couple, we are able to provide you with a wedding film that you will enjoy for years to come. We provide you with a way to relive your special day on your wedding anniversaries to come, to share it with family and friends that couldn't make it to the wedding, and a way to convey your family history to your future children and grandchildren. Our generation is truely the media generation. When we're old and grey we won't be telling stories about how, "when I was your age, I walked to school in the snow, up hill, BOTH WAYS!" No. We'll be the ones that are able to show them our wedding video, and let them see exactly what it was like for us - the love, the laughter, the start of a new family.
